From Pakistan to Moscow – Taking Pakistan’s Freelancing Talent to the Global Stage
Pakistan’s greatest export is not just technology or services. It is the ability, creativity and aspiration of our people!
It is this belief that leads me to be present in Moscow during the II Digital Forum Global 2026, scheduled for 8-10 October. I’m here representing the Pakistan Freelancers Association (PAFLA), alongside our President and CEO Mr. Imran Batada, Brigadier (Retired) Arif Saleem Sahib, Hamza Saleem, Mohid Ayyaz and Hibba.
Why Moscow
In Moscow, history and technology exist side by side. With the rich cultural heritage, modern infrastructure and emerging innovation ecosystem, the Russian capital is also home to approximately 4600 technology companies spanning various industries, making it one of the three key tech hubs in the region.
What the forum brings together
The forum is part of Digital Solutions, one of the largest IT events on digital transformation. Participants are coming from 120 countries, with more than 1,000 IT experts and over 50 VIP guests expected. Digital experts, policymakers, technology leaders, companies, teachers, media and young digital talent are all in one place.
Within the programme, it is focusing upon cybersecurity, AI and AI ethics, the digital future of the creative economy, quantum computing and digital sovereignty. The program not only focus on technology, but also on other themes. In IT journalism and bloggers’ schools, journalists and bloggers learn new ways of digital story-telling and sessions will cover the use of AI in creating media products, trust in media in an age of AI, emerging media formats, and the future of traditional media.
Why this matters for Pakistan’s freelancers
This is more than attending an international forum for me. It is an opportunity to bring Pakistan’s growing freelancing community into global conversations on artificial intelligence, digital transformation, emerging technologies, cross-border collaboration and the future of work.
We at PAFLA have been striving to build the freelance ecosystem by advocating, introducing digital payments, providing skills and recognizing those who are making this possibility possible. The space provides Pakistan’s freelance industry with a direct connection to the global digital community.
From digital services to global businesses
Freelancing Pakistani workers have already proved their capabilities in the international arena and are generating foreign exchange and adding value to the Pakistani digital economy.
The next ambition must be bigger, moving from providing digital services to building globally competitive businesses, technology enterprises and international partnerships.
The vision of PAFLA was always that Pakistani freelancers won’t be just being part of the global digital economy but are becoming part of its future.
What we hope to take home
We look forward to meaningful discussions, new relationships and opportunities that can connect Pakistan’s digital talent with international markets. Partnerships built here can open new markets for Pakistani talent.
Our talent has no borders. Our ambition should have none either. From Moscow, carrying Pakistan’s digital aspirations to the world.
Pakistan Zindabad!
